Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 1 serving of rice (sushi rice), prepared
- 1 pack of surimi
- ½ avocado(s)
- 2 tbsp cream cheese
- 2 nori sheets
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
enough for about 12-16 Maki – Sushi
Pit and peel the avocado, then cut into long, thin strips, approximately 5 x 5 mm. Halve or quarter the surimi depending on its size. Place the nori sheet on a bamboo mat, so that the underside of the nori sheet is at the bottom edge of the mat. Spread the rice about 7 mm thick on 2/3 of the nori sheet. Now spread a tablespoon of cream cheese about 3 cm wide in the center of the rice. Place the avocado and surimi strips on top, about 3 to 4 strips each. Then carefully roll up, applying even pressure. This will make fairly thick maki rolls. Brush the roll with a little water or a rice vinegar/water mixture (this makes it easier to cut). Trim the ends and cut the roll into pieces, at least 1.5 cm long. Recipes for sushi rice can be found in the recipe tree under Japan, Sushi Rice.
