Tomato sauce with mozzarella made from fresh ingredients

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 9 tomatoes
  • 2 balls of mozzarella, 125 grams each
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • ½ bunch basil, fresh
  • some stalks of thyme, fresh
  • some oregano, fresh or dried
  • some vegetable broth, instant
  • salt and pepper

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the tomatoes, halve them, and dice them like an onion (only larger). Heat the olive oil in a pan or pot, sauté the onion until translucent, add the diced tomatoes and sauté briefly. Add the chopped garlic cloves and sauté briefly. Season with salt, pepper, and stock. Add the fresh, chopped herbs (basil, thyme, oregano), stir, and finally add the finely diced mozzarella. Immediately remove the pan (pot) from the heat and stir. The cheese shouldn’t melt completely straight away. Suitable for all types of pasta…also goes well with rice.
