Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 bunch of flat-leaf parsley
- ½ bunch oregano
- e.g. salt and pepper
- 600 g minced beef
- 75 g breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp mustard
- ½ tsp sweet paprika powder
- 1 egg(s)
- 150 g feta cheese
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
Finely chop the onion and garlic, sauté in 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil until translucent, and place in a bowl. Pluck half of the herbs from the sprigs and set aside. Finely chop the rest and add to the bowl. Add the minced meat, breadcrumbs, mustard, spices (don’t be too sparing!), and the beaten egg. Mix the mixture thoroughly. Dice the cheese. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Form the mixture into a flatbread about 2 cm thick. Use your finger to make small indentations in the surface and place a piece of feta in each. Brush the flatbread and cheese with the remaining olive oil. Bake the cake in the center of a preheated oven to 200°C (400°F) for 30 minutes. After 20 minutes of baking, sprinkle the reserved herbs over the top. This goes very well with tzatziki and flatbread.
