Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 3 can/n tomatoes, chunky
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 onions
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • Sea salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Thinly slice the onion and garlic and fry lightly in olive oil in a pan until golden brown. Add the basil and tomatoes. Season the sauce with salt and pepper, bring to a boil, and simmer for a few minutes. Remove from the heat and pour through a sieve into a bowl, using a wooden spoon to strain the tomatoes. The garlic, onion, and basil will remain in the sieve and can be discarded. Return the sauce to the pan and bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes to thicken the flavors. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
