Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 jar sauerkraut
- 50 g bacon, finely diced
- 5 grains of allspice
- 8 juniper berries
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 tbsp sugar
- Water
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Sauerkraut from the jar, refined
Place the sauerkraut in a pot with allspice, juniper berries, bay leaf, and sugar and cover lightly with water. Brown the bacon in a pan until translucent and add to the sauerkraut. Simmer the sauerkraut for about 1 hour. If you prefer it firmer, simmer for just a short time.
