grilled cheese pastrami sandwiches

Here I’m combining two classic US sandwiches: the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with the Pastrami Sandwich. Add a little oil or lard to a pan and toast two sandwich slices until golden brown. When one side is brown, turn the bread over and place a slice of cheese on each. When the other side is golden brown and the cheese has melted, remove the sandwich slices from the pan. Spread the underside with mustard and place 50g of pastrami on top. Add Worcestershire sauce to the pastrami to taste. Meanwhile, spread the top with a mixture of mayonnaise and horseradish. Top with lettuce, sliced jalapeños, and pickles. Finally, place the top side on top of the underside, with the meat on the bottom and the lettuce on top. Now cut into triangles and the sandwiches are ready to eat.
