Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 burger bun (brioche bun)
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 3 slices of bacon
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 200 g minced beef
  • 2 slices of Cheddar
  • 2 tbsp, heaped barbecue sauce
  • ½ gherkin(s)
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Double Smash Burger with onions, cheddar and bacon

Melt the butter, cut open the burger bun, and brush the cut sides with the butter. Peel the onion and slice it into thin half rings. Form the ground beef into two balls. Finely dice the gherkin and mix it with the barbecue sauce. Toast the cut sides of the bun on a griddle or in a pan. Fry the bacon on the griddle or in an (iron) skillet until crispy and let it drain on kitchen towels. Form two mounds of onion on the bacon fat. Place the meat on the onions, flatten with a spatula using baking paper, and season with salt. Once the undersides are crispy, flip the patties and top with any onions and cheddar cheese. Use a lid towards the end to allow the cheese to melt. Top one patty with the bacon and stack the second on top. Brush the sauce onto the cut sides of the bun. Place the patties on the underside and place the top on top.
