Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g beef fillet(s) or pork fillet
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp meat broth
- 2 tbsp sherry, but can be omitted
- 4 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 30 minutes
Wash the fillet, pat dry, then cut into either thin (3-4mm) slices or finger-length, pencil-thick strips and place in a bowl. Crush the garlic cloves and mix with the brown sugar, soy sauce, meat stock, and sherry, then pour over the meat. Now comes the more relaxing part of the preparation, because the whole thing has to marinate for 24 hours. Drain the meat (be sure not to throw away the marinade) and fry it in a pan with hot oil for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Then transfer everything to a bowl and pour the remaining marinade over it. Serve the whole thing with a bowl of rice. P.S. The marinated meat is also great for fondue.
