Elderflower Mustard

The perfect elderflower mustard recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Mustard seeds
  • 100 ml Elderflower vinegar, homemade
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Turmeric
  • 2 tbsp Liquid honey
  • 300 ml Elderflower syrup, homemade
  1. In the first step, I grind the 200 grams of mustard seeds in a coffee grinder. You can grind it very finely, coarse or, like me, medium.
  2. In the second step I prepare a bowl to start mixing the mustard.
  3. Put all the ingredients in the bowl and stir. The best way to do this is with a hand blender. Mix everything well, let stand and stir thoroughly again and again. At first it is a bit runny, but gradually the mustard flour soaks up the liquid. Fill everything into sterile jars and store in a cool place. Makes a great gift and is just a sweet mustard. If you want really hot mustard, take brown mustard seeds. If you don’t want the mustard so spicy, like me, you can use the normal yellow mustard. Have fun copying!
