  • 1 sheet of dough (strudel or yufka dough sheet) approx. 80 x 80 cm
  • 300 g ground walnuts

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

a Hungarian delicacy

Spread the sheet of dough on a baking cloth or a damp tea towel. Spread the ground walnuts and sugar over the dough, leaving a 10 cm margin around the edges. Drizzle the sour cream over the nuts and sugar. Fold in the sides and roll up the dough with the help of the cloth, with the seam facing down. Make sure the strudel isn’t too long (pay attention to the size of the baking tray; you may need to make two strudels). Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush the strudel with butter and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes. After baking, sprinkle the strudel with powdered sugar, cut into approximately 5 cm wide pieces, and serve.
