Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 300 ml milk
  • 100 ml carbonated mineral water
  • Oil, for frying
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • Jam, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Hungarian pancakes

In a tall bowl, combine flour, eggs, salt, vanilla sugar, sugar, milk, and soda water to form a thin batter. Let it rest for about 10 minutes. Brush a 24-30 cm Teflon frying pan with a teaspoon of oil, swirl the oil back and forth in all directions until small streams of oil form all over the pan, and preheat the pan to medium heat. Pour in a small ladleful of batter, swirl it around to spread it thinly in the pan, and cook until golden brown on both sides. Once cooled slightly, spread with cinnamon and sugar, Nutella, jam, or whatever you like.
