Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 500 g quark (cream curd)
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- ⅛ liter milk
- 1 jar pitted sour cherries (720 ml)
- 125 g pumpernickel or other black bread
- 3 cl cherry brandy
- 100 g chocolate (dark), grated
- e.g. sauce (custard) or sweet cream
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Drain the quark, pass it through a fine sieve, and mix it with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and the milk until smooth. Drain the sour cherries. Crumble the pumpernickel in a bowl and sprinkle the remaining sugar over it, then soak it in the kirsch. Add the grated chocolate and mix everything well. Layer the mixture in a glass bowl, alternating layers of pumpernickel, quark, and cherries. Chill the quark dish in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before serving.
