Peking beef

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 750 g beef (entrecôte, roast beef)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce, dark
  • 1 tsp curry
  • ½ tsp ginger, fresh, finely chopped or
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 m.-large leek(s)
  • Vegetable oil, neutral

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the meat into thin slices. Break these into bite-sized pieces. Mix the soy sauce, curry, ginger, garlic, and sugar with a little oil to make a marinade and marinate the meat for at least 20 minutes, but no more than 60 minutes. Meanwhile, finely dice the peeled onions and finely slice the trimmed leek (which has been halved lengthwise). Drain the beef (reserving the marinade) and fry it in a pan with a little oil. Add the marinade, onions, and leek, mix everything together, and let it simmer gently with the lid on for 10 minutes. Serve with rice or noodles. Depending on the side dishes, this meal serves 2-4 people (we usually only serve 2…).
