Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 130 ml milk
  • 20 g butter
  • ½ cube of fresh yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 270 g flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Heat the milk and butter together until the butter has melted, but do not let it boil. You can do this in a microwave, for example. Stir in the sugar, salt, and egg. Crumble the yeast and stir in until it has completely dissolved. Finally, mix the flour and liquids together and knead until a smooth dough forms. At this point, you can add any other desired ingredients. Grated cheese is great, for example, but poppy seeds, flax seeds, sesame seeds, or herbs also work. Let the finished dough rise for at least 30 minutes. Then form 5 equal-sized balls and place them on a baking sheet. Make a hole in the middle and bake the bagels at 180 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes.
