American cookies with chocolate bars

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 35 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 45 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 150 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 130 g chocolate bar (Kinder chocolate), chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 9 minutes; Total time approx. 19 minutes

Very chewy and soft

Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) fan/convection oven. Microwave the butter briefly, about 30 seconds, until it’s very soft but not hot. Cream the butter and sugar with a hand mixer until creamy. Add the vanilla extract and eggs and fold in briefly with the mixer at low speed. Be careful not to overmix, or the cookies will become too hard. Combine the flour with the baking powder and salt. Knead all ingredients by hand and form into a dough ball that should still be slightly sticky. Add the chopped Kinder chocolate and knead into the dough. Form the dough into 9 large balls or 12 smaller ones and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving enough space between the cookies. Bake the cookies for about 9 minutes. Remove the cookies when they don’t look done, or they’ll become too hard. The outer edges should just begin to turn a light brown. Let cool for 30 minutes after baking. If they are packaged airtight, the cookies will stay soft for several days.
