America’s favorite cookies

Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy, add the vanilla extract, and beat in with the egg. Combine the flour with the baking powder and salt and stir in; then fold in the hazelnuts and chocolate chips. (The dough will be very lumpy; it’s easiest to knead it with your hands.) Line an ungreased baking sheet with parchment paper and drop small heaping spoonfuls onto the dough. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 20 minutes, until the cookies have spread and are golden brown. CAUTION: Watch the last few minutes; the cookies burn very easily.
