Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Dry rub for traditional Carolina pulled pork

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour into a jar. The rub can also be used on poultry, beef, lamb, and pork. Mix thoroughly again before use. As with all rubs, rub the meat with the rub at least 12 hours before use and then wrap tightly in foil and refrigerate. Remove from the refrigerator 2-3 hours before grilling and allow to come to room temperature.
