Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 wafers, large, rectangular
  • 250 g sugar
  • 250 ml water
  • 250 g raisins
  • 250 g dates
  • 250 g fig(s), dried
  • 250 g apricot(s), dried
  • 250 g plum(s), dried
  • 250 g walnuts, chopped

Make a simple syrup from the sugar and water: Boil the sugar and water until the sugar has dissolved. Let it cool. In the meantime, chop the dried fruit into small pieces and chop the walnuts. Mix the cooled simple syrup with the chopped fruit. Place a wafer on a large tray. Spread the filling on it to a thickness of about 2 cm. Cover with a wafer. Then spread the filling on top again and cover with another wafer. Weigh it down, e.g. with a cutting board, so that the waffles compress slightly. Let it rest overnight, then cut into 2-4 cm thick pieces (diamonds or triangles).
