Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 rolls, stale
  • 175 g bacon
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda)
  • ¼ liter cream
  • 125 ml milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g quark
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cut the rolls into slices about 1 cm thick. Finely dice the bacon. Peel and chop the onion. Fry the bacon and fry the onions in it until soft. Wash and finely chop the parsley. Coarsely grate the cheese. In a buttered casserole dish, alternate layers of rolls, bacon, onions, cheese, and parsley. The final layer is the cheese. Mix the cream with the milk, eggs, and quark and season with salt and pepper. Pour over the casserole. Place in the oven preheated to 200°C and bake for about 30 minutes, until the top crust is nicely browned and crispy.
