  • 8 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard, sweet, smooth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • chili powder
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Curry powder, mild
  • Paprika powder
  • Smoked salt (hickory)
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

BBQ sauce from the USA, with the special kick of cola

Reduce the cola to about 1/8 liter. This takes about a quarter of an hour, and the consistency will then be syrupy. In the meantime, combine the other ingredients in a separate container and add the spices to taste. Let the cola cool and stir in the ketchup and spice mixture. I think this recipe is great for several reasons: With maybe one or two exceptions, you already have the ingredients at home. It’s quick and easy to prepare, and the result tastes amazing—at least to my family. Tip: If you don’t have smoked salt, you can use regular salt and a little garlic. It tastes different, but also delicious.
