Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup or sugar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp, heaped hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp, heaped peanut butter
  • ½ tsp Sriracha sauce
  • 4 tbsp water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 14 minutes

for Vietnamese summer rolls

Finely chop the garlic. Lightly caramelize it in a saucepan with the sesame oil and sugar. Do not let the garlic over-brown. Deglaze with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, add the remaining ingredients, and stir until creamy. Simmer over low/medium heat for 2 minutes. Add more water as needed, as the sauce thickens considerably. Season to taste with soy sauce and sriracha sauce. Let cool and serve. The sauce goes well with summer rolls, as a marinade for tofu or chicken, or as a dip for raw vegetables.
