Asian peanut sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 small piece(s) of ginger root, about the size of a garlic clove
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • some oil
  • coconut milk
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sambal oelek or chili powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp curry powder, optional
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil, toasted

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 17 minutes

First, peel and finely chop the ginger and garlic. Heat a little oil in a pan and sauté the ginger and garlic. Add the coconut milk and deglaze. Then add the peanut butter and stir until dissolved. Add soy sauce, sambal oelek or chili powder, sugar, and curry powder, if using. Finally, add the sesame oil.
