Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pack of fish (matjes fillet in oil)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 apple
  • 2 eggs, boiled
  • 3 cucumber(s) , (pickles)
  • ½ ring/s of meat sausage
  • 1 cup of cream (UHT cream)
  • pepper, to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 20 minutes

Remove the herring fillet from the package and drain the oil. Rinse the fillet thoroughly under running water to reduce the saltiness. Cut all of the listed ingredients into small cubes and place them in a bowl. Finally, pour the cup of long-life cream over the top. Refrigerate the whole thing for about 24 hours. The next day, when everything has a good marinade, mix everything together and season with pepper. Serve with bread or boiled potatoes.
