Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 salted herring(s)
  • 4 apples
  • 1 kiwi(s)
  • 1 orange(s)
  • 3 eggs, hard-boiled
  • ½ jar pickles
  • 1 jar beetroot (slices or balls)
  • 100 ml vinegar – water
  • Sugar
  • pepper
  • Cucumber juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Total time approx. 4 hours 45 minutes

Soak the salted herring overnight. Then remove the central bone and dice the fillet. Dice the peeled fruit, gherkins, and beetroot. Roughly chop the eggs. Place everything in a bowl. Add the vinegar water, sugar, and pepper. Stir and season to taste. Add gherkin juice to taste. Let stand for at least 4 hours. Serve with brown bread.
