Avocado Sambal

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 avocado(s), ripe
  • 250 g natural yogurt
  • 2 chili peppers, green, or one red hot one
  • ¼ bunch coriander leaves, or flat parsley
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

South African, spicy, great dip for grilling

Halve the avocado, remove the pit, scoop out the flesh, and puree in a blender. Add the yogurt to the avocado puree and mix. Deseed and finely chop the chili. Finely chop the coriander or parsley. Then stir into the avocado-yogurt mixture. Season with the juice of half a lemon and salt and pepper. A delicious dip for baguette or bread, raw vegetables, or grilled meat. This recipe comes from South Africa and was successfully tested here during the 2010 World Cup.
