Crème brûlée

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g double cream
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 300 ml milk
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 8 egg yolks

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Scrape out the vanilla pod. Bring the vanilla seeds, double cream, and the scraped vanilla pod to a boil with the milk. Remove the vanilla pod. Stir the egg yolk into the warm mixture. Pour the cream into ovenproof containers and bake in the oven at 90°C for approximately 50-60 minutes. Chill. Sprinkle with brown sugar and ignite with a Bunsen burner just before serving. Tip: Double cream is a sour milk product with a fat content of at least 40%, made from cream. It is usually available in well-stocked supermarkets.
