Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 tbsp popcorn, well heaped
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup(s) syrup, caramel
  • 1 tbsp beet syrup
  • e.g. cashew nuts, peanuts or sunflower seeds

American recipe, suitable for parties

Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F) and pop the popcorn according to the package instructions. Do not add any sugar. Place the popped popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, melt the butter in a saucepan, and remove from the heat. Stir in the caramel syrup and sugar beet syrup. Pour the butter-syrup mixture over the popcorn and roll the popcorn in it, making sure that as many popcorn as possible get a little. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, stirring the popcorn every 5 minutes. If desired, add a cup of nuts or sunflower seeds to the caramel popcorn once it has cooled slightly.
