Pretzel Salad

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs
  • 170 g butter
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 225 g double cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 225 g whipped cream
  • 1 pack of jelly (strawberry flavor)
  • 500 ml water
  • 300 g strawberries (frozen)

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 53 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Place the pretzel sticks in a freezer bag and crush them very finely with a rolling pin (they should then be equivalent to 2 cups). Melt the butter until it is liquid (!). Mix with the crushed pretzel sticks and sugar, press into a baking dish, and bake for 8 minutes. Let cool. Mix the cream cheese with the sugar and whipped cream and spread over the pretzel stick base. Prepare the jelly with the water according to the package instructions and immediately add the frozen strawberries. Spread the jelly with the strawberries over the cream cheese mixture and let it set in the refrigerator.
