Peel and core the apples, and cut them into approximately 3 mm thick slices. Mix the grated cheese with the breadcrumbs. Mix the sugar and cinnamon. Place one-third of the apple slices in a buttered baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and then the mixed breadcrumbs. Repeat the process for the second layer. For the third layer, sprinkle a little water on the cinnamon sugar and cover with the remaining breadcrumbs. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 40 minutes. If the dish is overbrowning, cover with aluminum foil.
