Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g cherries
  • 350 g rusks or milk rolls
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 65 g margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 shot of rum
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash and pit the cherries. Soak the rusks or milk rolls in the milk. Separate the eggs. Meanwhile, beat the margarine until fluffy and mix with the egg yolks, sugar, and rum. Add the rusks or milk rolls. Beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff peaks form and fold into the batter. Pour half of the batter into a greased cake pan, scatter the cherries on top, and cover with the remaining batter. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 60 minutes.
