Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 ml water
  • 100 g corn semolina
  • some butter
  • some salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 15 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 17 minutes

corn porridge

Briefly boil the water and salt, add the cornmeal, and simmer over low heat for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the butter, more or less to taste. Combine the egg and milk, add to the porridge, and mix well and quickly, otherwise the egg will curdle. Let it stand for 2-3 minutes and season with a little salt and/or pepper. Serve as a side dish or, as Americans like it, for breakfast with bacon, eggs, and toast.
