Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g beef fillet(s)
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp pepper paste
- ½ tsp ginger powder
- ½ tsp galangal powder
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp lemon(s) – zest, grated
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 pinch(s) of sugar
- Salt
- ½ cup(s) water
Instructions

Cut the sirloin into bite-sized cubes. Finely chop the onion and garlic clove. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Fry the onion and garlic until translucent. Add the hot pepper paste and seasoning powder and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring. Add the meat and simmer for another 2 minutes. Add the soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, grated lemon zest, bay leaves, sugar, and salt. Add the water. Stir well and simmer the dish, covered, for about 1 hour. Add a little more hot water if necessary. Serve with cooked rice.
