Original recipe from the States
Rinse the chicken wings and pat dry, then cut them in half at the joint. Combine the onion, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic, then stir-fry with the sherry. Preparation option 1: Place the wings in a frying pan and cook on high for 20 minutes (about 10 minutes on each side) until nicely browned. Pour the sauce over the chicken wings, and then bring to a boil at high heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir the chicken wings at least once to ensure the sauce is evenly distributed. Preparation option 2: Alternatively, marinate the chicken wings overnight (turning them a few times if necessary) and then bake them in the oven. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Place the chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and bake for about 40 to 45 minutes. Brush some of the marinade over the wings occasionally during the baking process to create a crispy crust.
