Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 40 g sugar

Press cooked potatoes through a ricer onto a large board. Let cool, sprinkle with flour and salt, and add the eggs. Roll the potato dough into a log and cut thick slices. Roll these out into palm-sized patches. Brush with a little melted butter and cream. Then add the filling. Mix finely sliced ​​apples with pitted plums and cherries (or use just apples, just plums, or just cherries), sprinkle with sugar, and mix well. Place the Maultaschen in a well-greased roasting pan or casserole dish, brush the tops generously with butter, and bake at 180-200°C for about 45 minutes. They should be golden brown. Just before the end of the cooking time, you can pour a little hot milk over the Maultaschen.
