Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 450 g flour
  • 450 g sugar
  • 450 g butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 200 g nuts or almonds (ground)
  • e.g. butter, in flakes
  • powdered sugar

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sponge cake with chocolate sprinkles from the tray

For the dough, cream 300g butter with 300g sugar, the vanilla sugar, and the 6 eggs until fluffy. Mix 300g flour with the baking powder and sift it over the mixed dough. Mix everything into a smooth dough and spread on a greased baking tray. For the crumble, crumble 150g flour, 150g butter, 150g sugar, cocoa powder, and nuts by hand and spread the crumble over the dough. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) on the middle rack for about 30 minutes. If you like, you can scatter some butter flakes on the cake shortly before the end of the baking time. After baking, let it cool and dust with powdered sugar.
