Curry schnitzel from the oven

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg pork schnitzel
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 200 ml crème fraîche
  • 500 ml cream
  • 200 g cooked ham
  • 1 small can of mushrooms
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 20 minutes

Halve the schnitzels and season with salt, pepper, and plenty of curry powder. Brown them in hot oil on both sides. Dice the onions and ham. Slice the mushrooms. Layer everything with the schnitzels in a baking dish. Mix the crème fraîche with the cream, pour over the ingredients in the dish, and let it rest in the refrigerator for 1 day. The next day, cover with aluminum foil and bake at 200°C for about 1 hour. Then, uncovered, brown for another 15 minutes.
