Florentine's Thai Meat Skewers Satay

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g turkey meat (fillet) or chicken breast fillet
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce (available from Asian stores)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • oil
  • Water, cold
  • 400 ml coconut milk, from the can
  • 200 g peanut butter, from the jar
  • fish sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Cut the meat into long strips. Oil the skewers. Thread the meat onto the skewers in an accordion-like pattern. Peel and chop the onion, peel and finely chop the garlic clove, and mince both in a blender. Add the fish sauce, sugar, oil, and cold water. Pour the onion mixture over the meat skewers and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes. Then grill the skewers or sear them on all sides in a large pan. For the sauce: Bring the coconut milk and peanut butter to a boil in a saucepan over low heat until thickened and season with fish sauce. Pour over the finished skewers.
