Teriyaki sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 ml water
  • 120 ml soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine
  • 20 g honey, liquid
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 2 large garlic cloves
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, large piece
  • 1 pinch of chili flakes
  • 1 tsp Chinese spice
  • some cornstarch
  • some water to mix the starch

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the garlic and press it through a press, peel the ginger and dice it into small pieces. Simmer these ingredients in a saucepan with water, sugar, honey, and the remaining spices for about 10 minutes over low heat. Then strain the sauce through a fine sieve and thicken with the cornstarch, returning the heat to low.
