Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 450 g rump steak(s), cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 spring onion(s), cut into rings
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice wine (alternatively dry sherry)
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 4 chili peppers, red, fresh, pitted, cut into strips

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Place the beef strips in a bowl. Add the soy sauce, spring onion rings, sesame oil, rice wine, and sugar. Mix everything together and let marinate for at least 1 hour. Heat the sesame oil in a large pan. Add the garlic and chili peppers and fry for about 1 minute, stirring, until pleasantly fragrant. Then remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. Remove the meat from the marinade, add it to the pan, and fry for about 2-3 minutes, stirring. Then add the chili peppers and garlic back in.
