Marinated onions

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 large onions, red
  • 200 ml port wine
  • 100 ml soy sauce
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 25 ml balsamic vinegar, dark
  • 2 tbsp sugar, brown
  • some pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

for hamburgers

Peel the onions and slice them thinly. Mix the remaining ingredients together thoroughly and let the onions and garlic marinate for a good two hours. Then pour the entire mixture into a pan and reduce over medium heat until it reaches a syrupy consistency. It’s perfect for hamburgers. Sauces aren’t really necessary afterward. It’s also great to make in larger batches and freeze for later.
