Wasabi almonds

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 460 g almonds
  • 2 tbsp wasabi powder
  • 2 tsp salt, coarse
  • 2 tsp cornstarch (cornstarch)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat the oven to 135 degrees C. Line a rimmed baking sheet with greased aluminum foil or parchment paper. Whisk the egg whites and water until frothy; add the almonds and toss thoroughly. Transfer to a sieve, shake gently, and let drain. Combine the wasabi powder, salt, and cornstarch in a large bowl. Stir in the drained almonds and mix thoroughly. Place the nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Stir gently once, reduce the oven temperature to just 95 degrees C, and bake for another 20 minutes. Allow the almonds to cool completely before serving. Stored in an airtight container, they will keep for about 1 week.
