Carrot chips

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g carrot(s), net
  • Salt and other spices as desired

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Healthy snacking

Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 100 degrees Celsius (fan). Grate peeled carrots and place them side by side on the parchment paper; this makes approximately 1.5 sheets. If you want the chips a little thicker, cut very thin slices by hand from the amount specified above; this will make 1 sheet. Place both baking sheets in the oven, both upper and lower, and wedge a wooden spoon in the door. After 30 minutes, carefully remove the chips from the parchment paper to prevent them from sticking. Continue drying at 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) for 45-50 minutes. After this time, the chips will be dry; hand-cut chips will naturally take a little longer. Drying time may vary depending on the oven. Remove the sheets from the oven, transfer the chips to a bowl, sprinkle with salt and seasonings of your choice, and enjoy. I only used a small amount as a test – the chips are delicious and crispy.
