Baby porridge "Uncle Benni" with sweet potatoes and minced meat

Spread the love

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 1 kg sweet potatoes
  • 1 kg carrot(s)
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 300 g corn, canned or frozen
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel the sweet potatoes and carrots, cut them into small pieces, and cook them for about 20 to 30 minutes, until they are really soft. Lightly fry the onion and ground beef in a little oil. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes and add them to the ground beef along with the corn. Simmer until the liquid has evaporated. Puree the carrots and sweet potatoes very finely, using a little more of the cooking water until the desired consistency is reached. Finally, add the ground beef mixture and puree until finely or chunky, as required. For older children, you can leave it as it is. To freeze, fill the jars with baby food. Be careful not to overfill them, as the jars might burst. This recipe yields about 10 to 15 jars, depending on how much water you add. I used quite a bit of water and got 15 jars out of it.
