Baked strawberries for dessert

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g strawberries
  • 60 g sugar
  • 75 g sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 50 g flour
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • ⅛ liter sour cream
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • Butter for the mold
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Wash and drain the strawberries, then remove the stems and sprinkle with 60g of sugar. Cover and let stand for about 30 minutes. If the strawberries have a really good flavor and are nice and sweet, adding sugar is not necessary. Meanwhile, for the batter, beat the remaining sugar and egg yolks until frothy. Mix the flour and cornstarch and fold into the sugar and egg yolk mixture along with the sour cream. The batter should be thick and runny. Add salt and vanilla sugar. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter. Drain the strawberries well and fold them loosely into the batter. Grease an ovenproof dish and pour in the batter. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 35 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
