Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g flour
  • 200 g butter
  • 150 g cheese, grated (Emmental or pizza cheese)
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp yogurt
  • 1 tbsp caraway seeds
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Flour for the work surface

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Melt the butter and add it. Mix in the yogurt and cheese and knead everything by hand until a smooth dough forms. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for one hour. Then, roll it out on a floured surface, brush with egg yolk, cut into strips, and sprinkle with caraway seeds. Spread the strips on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven (top/bottom heat) at 200°C for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Allow the finished sticks to cool on a wire rack.
