In'n Out Burger Protein Style

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 6 leaves of iceberg lettuce
  • 1 large tomato(s)
  • 6 slices of cheese (e.g. Cheddar)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Low carb, alternative cheeseburger

Cut the onion into rings that aren’t too thick, but also not too thin. Reserve 6 rings and finely chop the rest for the meat patties. Cut the tomato into 6 slices. If it’s too small for 6 slices, add a second or third tomato. Large tomatoes are best. Mix the ground beef and onion in a bowl and season well with salt and pepper. Then form 6 burger patties by hand. Depending on how large and thick you want the patties to be, you can use fewer portions. I’ve always found that 6 portions work well. Add a little oil to the pan, and once it’s hot, add the patties. Brown them well on each side. Just before the end of the cooking time, place the cheese slices on the patties and let them melt slightly. Meanwhile, separate 6 leaves of iceberg lettuce, as these will serve as the buns. Once the patties are ready, assemble the burger by placing the meat, tomatoes, and onions in the lettuce leaf. I’ve never used any sauce or ketchup, etc., because I like it so much. Of course, you can top it with whatever you like. With or without cheese, with fried onions or pickles, etc.
