Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 300 g fig(s), fresh
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 100 ml raspberry vinegar
  • 75 g sugar, white or brown
  • some salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

vegetarian, good with cheese or grilled vegetables

Dice the tomatoes (you can peel them first if you like), peel the onion and figs, and dice them as well. Briefly sauté the onion in a little oil in a small saucepan (do not fry!), then add the remaining ingredients and simmer on low heat for at least an hour. Stir occasionally. Pour into prepared, hot-rinsed twist-off jars, seal tightly, and set aside until cool. It goes well as a sauce for all kinds of grilled food, with cheese on bread, or as a cold sweet and sour sauce for pasta.
