French Baguette

for 2 loaves

  • 370 g Flour 550
  • 1,5 tsp Salt
  • 20 g Fresh yeast
  • 200 ml Warm water (<40 ° C)
  • 0,5 tsp Sugar

  1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water (<40 ° C). Knead the flour, salt and yeast solution in a mixing bowl until a cohesive dough is formed. Divide the dough into 2 – 3 portions, shape into rolls and place on a bread baking sheet. Cover with a damp towel and let rise for 1-2 hours.

  1. Cut into the rolls lengthways and brush with water. Bake in a preheated oven at 250 ° C (2 minutes) and then bake at 200 ° C for 30 – 35 minutes to the end.
