Hamburger patties

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg minced beef
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp, leveled cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Place the ground meat and seasonings in a bowl. Knead thoroughly with wet hands. Then form four equal-sized balls. Take two pieces of aluminum foil and a flat plate. Place one ball on one sheet of aluminum foil, and the other on top. Then flatten the dough with the bottom of the plate. Use your hands to smooth out any bumps or imperfect edges. Heat fat in a griddle or frying pan. Lightly moisten the patty on both sides (wet hands are best) and place it in the pan. Cook over high heat for 30 seconds on each side, then reduce the heat to low and cook for about 8 to 12 minutes. When no more red liquid comes out, it’s usually cooked through. These patties are designed for large hamburger buns. The original American patty is made without seasoning, but I prefer it spicier. If you don’t want it spiced up, just add a little salt to bind it.
