Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 400 g smoked tofu
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Oil for frying, optional
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar or white wine vinegar
- 3 tbsp agave syrup or maple syrup
- Chili sauce or other hot sauce of your choice
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 30 ml water
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Dry the tofu, tear it into pieces, and toss it with salt and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Either fry it in oil until crispy or bake it in a hot oven at 180°C (convection oven) for about 20 minutes. For the sauce, combine the remaining ingredients and add them to a hot pan to thicken. Briefly stir in the crispy tofu. Tip: If you like, you can serve the dish simply over rice or enjoy it as is and top with sesame seeds and spring onions, if desired.
